Plant Manager

In this function you are responsible for the following:

  • Assume responsibility of the Goshen Plant & ensure daily operations
    Ensure business continuity and plant resilience (processes, maintenance concept, capex investments)
  • Develop technical capability of the Goshen plant (introduce new product lines in manufacturing by process improvements and/or capex investments)
  • Review, document, re-engineer and establish processes for PLAN, SOURCE, MAKE, DELIVER functions (end2end supply chain processes, change management)
  • Act as change agent
  • Decrease manufacturing costs: Contribute to the optimization of raw material costs in strong collaboration with the local US buyer and the Global Head of Procurement / R&D in Switzerland
  • Ensure support of processes by an appropriately defined & used ERP (define needs, define solution, lobby for solution, execute transition, ensure business continuity & sustainability)

We expect you to have the following:

  • Proven track record in successfully managing a plant (at least three years of experience)
  • Having had first experience in managing CAPEX projects and potential to manage large CAPEX projects
  • First successful track record in Continuous Improvement
  • Solid leadership & change management capabilities (should have at least some experience in change management on which can be built on)
  • Personality: Strong can do mentality, results oriented, self-starter, proactive, holistically-thinking, team player with strong entrepreneurial spirit, curious, full of energy and drive, wanting to make a difference

We would like you to have the following:

  • Degree as Chemical Engineer, Methods Engineer or Material Processing Engineer or related process engineering
  • Production responsibility (experience) for a chemical production OR related experience and track record in similar industries (chemical, food, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, oil & gas production plant)
  • Sound technical understanding and knowledge of the statutory provision relating to manufacturing processes, storage and transportation of chemicals goods
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of tank farm-and production-related PLC (Programmable Logical Controller) and associated SCADA systems
  • High IT-literacy (Excel, word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), user knowledge of Microsoft Navision a plus
  • Supply Chain & Purchasing Experience a plus
  • Languages: English
  • International experience a plus
  • Knowledge in process improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma Green belt a plus
